Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of HIKMA. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to them. We've kept them readable.
HIKMA is an educational study tool. It is not medical advice and must never be used to diagnose or treat real patients or to make clinical decisions. Always rely on qualified supervision and primary sources in actual practice.
1. The service
HIKMA provides an AI-powered clinical-reasoning simulator and study tools for USMLE preparation — branching cases, practice sessions, a structured curriculum, flashcards, readiness signals, and Study Hub for your own materials. The platform is currently in private beta and is offered on an evolving basis.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate information, keep your login secure, and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding agreement. One account is for one person; don't share credentials.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload identifiable patient data or any content you don't have the right to use.
- Copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute HIKMA's content or generated output at scale.
- Reverse-engineer, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform.
- Use the service to harm others or violate any law.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the documents and materials you upload to Study Hub. You grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to provide the features to you (for example, parsing, embedding, search, and answering your questions). You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload what you upload. You can delete your content at any time.
5. AI-generated content
HIKMA uses AI to generate cases, explanations, and answers. While our content is built against curated medical sources and a reviewer workflow, AI output can contain errors and may not reflect the latest guidelines. It is provided for study only and is not a substitute for textbooks, instructors, or clinical judgment. Verify anything you rely on.
6. Subscriptions & payment
HIKMA offers a free tier and paid plans (Standard and Pro). Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe on a recurring basis until cancelled. Before any paid subscription begins, we show you the price, the billing frequency, and that the plan renews automatically until you cancel, and you affirmatively agree to those terms at checkout. You can cancel anytime from your account settings; cancellation stops future renewals and access continues until the end of the current billing period. Founding-cohort pricing, where offered, applies for as long as a subscription remains continuously active. Prices and plan features may change with notice. For details on cancelling and when refunds apply, see our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
7. No medical advice
HIKMA does not provide medical advice and is not a medical device. Nothing in the platform creates a doctor–patient relationship. Clinical scenarios are fictional teaching cases. Never use HIKMA to make decisions about a real person's care.
8. Availability & beta disclaimer
Because HIKMA is in active development, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Features may change, break, or be removed, and data may occasionally be reset during beta. We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HIKMA is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for exam outcomes, arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
10. Termination
You can stop using HIKMA and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or to protect the platform and its users.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a new date above; continued use means you accept them.
12. Trademarks & affiliation
HIKMA is an independent study tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected to the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) or the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB). “USMLE”, “Step 1”, “Step 2 CK”, and “Step 3” are trademarks of the NBME and FSMB. References to these exams are for identification and descriptive purposes only.
