Cookie Policy
This explains the cookies and similar storage HIKMA uses, why we use them, and how to control them. We keep this short because, honestly, we don't use many — no advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, no dark patterns.
Today HIKMA only sets cookies and storage that are strictly necessary to run the platform securely. We do not currently run analytics or marketing trackers. If that ever changes, those categories will stay off until you opt in.
What cookies and similar storage are
Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device. We also use related technologies such as your browser's localStorage to remember settings. Throughout this page, “cookies” means cookies and these similar technologies together.
Consent categories
We group cookies into four categories, the standard model used across the web. You can accept or reject each non-essential category independently.
- Strictly necessary — required for the platform to work: signing you in, keeping your session secure, and blocking automated abuse. These cannot be switched off, and we rely on them to provide a service you asked for.
- Functional — remember preferences and choices (for example, the cookie choices you make here) so the experience is consistent. Optional.
- Analytics — would help us understand, in aggregate, how the product is used so we can improve it. Optional. Currently none / off.
- Marketing — would support advertising or cross-site tracking. Optional. We do not use these and have no plans to. Currently none / off.
Cookie inventory
This is what HIKMA actually uses today. We will keep this table current as the product evolves.
| Name | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| csrf_token | Strictly necessary | Protects forms and requests against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). | Session |
| Clerk session & auth cookies | Strictly necessary | Set by our authentication provider (Clerk) to keep you securely signed in. | Session / persistent |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Strictly necessary | Bot protection on sign-up and other forms to prevent automated abuse. | Short-lived |
| hikma.consent.v1 | Functional | A localStorage key that stores your own cookie choices so we can honor them on future visits. | Persistent (until cleared) |
We do not currently set any analytics or marketing cookies. If we introduce an analytics tool in the future, we will add it to this table and it will run only with your consent.
Managing your choices
Because the only cookies we set today are strictly necessary, there is nothing optional to switch off right now. When optional categories exist, you can change your decision at any time — your choices are stored in hikma.consent.v1 and applied on every visit.
You can review or update your preferences here:
You can also clear cookies and site data through your browser's settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop you from signing in or break parts of the platform.
